We will not practice at Burke High School starting July 17th.
The Burke Pool is being drained to install new drain covers required by a Federal Law passed last year. As a result, we will be unable to practice at Burke High School after July 16th.
We will only miss 6 nights of practice while the safety drains are installed in the Burke pool.
We are offering two alternative practice locations for affected swim families. You are encourage to practice at either Hitchcock Pool in the morning from 8:00 am–9:30 am or South High School from 5:30–7:00 PM.
Hitchcock pool is located at 5025 South 45th Street
Omaha South High School is located at 4519 S 24th Street.
Families who normally do not swim at Hitchcock will not be billed for Hitchcock fees since this is a very unusual situation and only impacts 6 practices.
We apologize for this inconvenience while the new drains are being installed to comply with mandatory Federal safety requirements. Installation of the new drains corrects a safety concern and will allow the Burke staff to perform maintenance on the pool and have it ready for the new school year and MOST swimming in the fall.
